A sufficiently decentralized social network
Farcaster is a decentralized social network built as an open protocol. It is aimed at people and developers who want a social media service where accounts and social connections are not locked to a single company. Users post short messages, known as casts, follow others and join topic channels, much like on other microblogging services. Identities are registered on a blockchain, so a person's account and followers can move between any client built on the protocol. Developers can build their own apps and mini apps that run inside the feed, and the project describes itself as sufficiently decentralized rather than fully so.
