Bookmarking this for every launch I help with. Number 5 is the one people skip.

This is the most underrated performance tip out there. Skeletons that match the real layout feel twice as fast.

Shipped dark mode today. Took 3 weeks, 2 rewrites of the color tokens and one very long night arguing with myself about #0a0a0a vs #0b0b0c. Worth it.

LLena Fischer · 11h agoThe contrast on the sidebar is so much better now.Hot take: your landing page doesn't need a video. It needs one sentence that says who it's for.

Moved our image pipeline to Bun.Image. 2 MB PNG logos are now 1.6 KB WebP thumbnails, and the home page went from 1.9s to 0.6s on 4G. No sharp, no native deps.

KKenji Sato · 13h agoDid you hit any decode issues with animated WebP?What I learned from 40 launches this year: 1. Launch on a Tuesday or Wednesday. 2. The first 2 hours decide your day. Line up your people before you post. 3. Reply to every single comment, even the mean ones. 4. Screenshots beat videos in the gallery. People skim. 5. Your tagline is your whole pitch. If it needs a comma, it's two products. 6. Don't ask for upvotes. Ask for feedback; the upvotes follow. 7. Post an update a week later. That's where the second wave comes from. What would you add?

MMaya Chen · 14h agoOkay now I need to know what this is 👀Spent the afternoon on a 400ms spring for a sheet. Nobody will notice. Everybody will feel it.

LLena Fischer · 16h agoThat spring looks perfect. We cut our AI feature's latency in half by streaming the first token and rendering a skeleton that matches the final layout. Perceived speed is a design problem, not an infra one.

First $1k MRR month. 14 months in. Not overnight, but it's real.
Typography tip: tighten letter-spacing on big headings (-0.02em to -0.04em) and loosen it on tiny labels. It's the cheapest polish you'll ever ship.

What's the most underrated part of a launch page? Mine: the first comment from the maker. It sets the tone for every reply after it.

LLena Fischer · 2d agoThe maker's first comment, 100%. It's the real tagline.Small win: the feed now loads in under 400ms on a cold cache. Skeletons that match the real layout make it feel even faster.
