The platform for building and running apps
Heroku is a cloud platform as a service for building, deploying and running web applications without managing servers. It is used by developers and teams who want to focus on their code rather than on infrastructure, and it is owned by Salesforce. Apps are deployed with a simple git push, after which Heroku builds them and runs them in managed containers called dynos that can be scaled up or out as traffic grows. It supports many languages, including Ruby, Node.js, Python, Java and Go, and offers managed add-ons such as Postgres and Redis. Heroku helped popularize the platform-as-a-service model and remains a common choice for getting apps into production quickly.
