Open-source home automation
Home Assistant is a free, open-source home automation platform that runs locally on hardware in your home. It is aimed at people who want to control smart devices from many brands in one place while keeping data private and not depending on a cloud service. It connects to thousands of devices and services, including lights, thermostats, sensors, cameras and voice assistants, and lets users build dashboards and automations that react to events in the house. It can run on a Raspberry Pi, a dedicated Home Assistant device or a server. The project is backed by the Open Home Foundation, a non-profit, and a Works with Home Assistant program certifies compatible products.
