Durable workflows and background jobs
Inngest is a platform for running durable workflows, background jobs and AI agents without setting up queues or extra infrastructure. It is aimed at developers who need asynchronous code to run reliably in production. Developers write functions with its SDK and split them into steps that are triggered by events. Inngest then handles automatic retries, pausing, fan-out, delays and flow controls such as concurrency limits and throttling. Because Inngest executes the functions itself, it records each run step by step, giving built-in tracing from trigger to completion without custom instrumentation. Code runs on the developer's existing hosting, and work can be developed locally before scaling in production.
