Serverless compute for AI and data teams
Modal is a serverless cloud platform for running AI and data workloads. It is aimed at engineering teams that build, train and deploy machine learning applications and do not want to manage their own GPU servers. Developers define their functions and infrastructure in code, and Modal provisions the compute and scales it up or down with demand. The platform covers model training, batch jobs and inference, including OpenAI-compatible endpoints for serving open models. Endpoints can be tuned to match the pattern of incoming traffic, so the same platform can support anything from experiments to production applications without separate infrastructure for each stage.
