The world's fastest and most scalable databases
PlanetScale is a cloud database platform for MySQL and Postgres. It is used by engineering teams running applications that need high performance, reliability and room to scale. PlanetScale hosts Postgres and MySQL databases on fast local NVMe storage. For workloads too large for a single server, its Vitess offering provides sharded MySQL and Neki provides sharded Postgres, adding horizontal scaling, schema changes without downtime, no-downtime upgrades and built-in connection pooling. Several deployment options are available to meet security and compliance needs, including PlanetScale Managed, which runs inside a customer's own cloud account.
