Workflow automation with code when you need it
n8n is an automation platform for building workflows, pairing a visual editor with the option to write code. It is aimed at technical teams who want to automate business processes and build AI agents while keeping full control of how they work. Workflows are made of steps that can each be opened and inspected, so it is clear what an automation or agent does and why. Steps can include human approval, for example asking a teammate in Slack before acting on a request. n8n connects to a wide range of apps and services, and it is source-available, so it can be self-hosted as well as used as a cloud service.
